Whisperwood Mountain Toast
Recipe Submitted by the Creekwalk Inn and Cabins at Whisperwood Farm
Mix pancake batter with 1 tbsp. vanilla and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Dip french bread thick sliced in pancake batter.
Grill apples, lightly brown in olive oil.
Grill the mountain toast (like French toast), again in olive oil. The pancake batter will make a light glaze on the toast. Serve with grilled apples, an extra sprinkling of cinnamon, and powdered sugar, and of course, real maple syrup! A great changeup to French toast, and after all, we are in the Smoky Mountains, not France!
