Jackson is the regional home for superior art galleries, wonderful restaurants, explosive shopping opportunities, and interesting history.  Home of four colleges, it's perfect for college-aged kids -- and a wonderful place for the parents to visit with a stay at a local B&B Inn.

Of course, each college has various home games and the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship is here.  More, we have a professional baseball team whose homet, Pringles Park, now centers is complex of 17 baseball fields offering sites for multi-state teams to assemble.  Not only does the Jackson Symphony Orchestra offer the very epitome of classic music, it plays a wonderful range of popular music in its seasopn.  And the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame, in the center of town, is a delight which stirs memories of another kind of classic music!

For good history, check David Crockett who represented us in the U.S. Congress.  When his defeat overwhelmed him he told us, "You can go to Hell.  I'm going to Texas."  Some years later, General Grant stopped in on his way from the forts along the Missippi north of us; to Shiloh.  On the other side, Camp Beauregard was located just across town from the park named for Grant.

The old train station, the object of great concernon both sides of the War Between the States, shows history and provides a running model railroad through the old town.  Across the street is the Neeley Hotel, now a showcase for individual arts and crats and a restaurant.  The Pinson Mounds are just south of us and are representative of a culture over 1,000 years old.
